Annu Kilpeläinen has long been making a name for herself with her
abstract drawings, featuring at a long list of exhibitions including
Pick Me Up graphic art festival.
Drawing inspiration from people, landscapes and cars, Annu
merges her unique view on surreal subjects with a vibrant and intense colour palette –
warming up your eyeballs during these cold winter months.
“It’s fun to think of things in real life as slow-motion film clips, and focus on what
is happening in the surrounding world to create a form of ‘screenshot’ artwork.
I tend to favour clashing a lot of colours together as it adds extra tension to
my illustrations.” – Annu Kilpeläinen –

This series of collages born as an aesthetic experiment that evokes the well known effect
of “sleep paralysis” a state in which anything seems possible and that is sometimes so
real that the memory remains latent in the retina and in the subconscious as a reality.
Under the inspirational influence of surrealism and classical Raphaelite painting,
Hypnopompic reflects on the delicacy of the female figure in synergy with nature, as an ode
to the ephemeral beauty and fragility of human beings. The portraits have been made by
the artist Rocio Montoya and intervened with the technique of handmade collage,
using symbolic elements extracted from old botanical illustrations and various print magazines.

Nature is the key component for Paris-born artist Christophe Guinet,
also known as “Mr. Plant”.
As a teenager he was always very much in touch with nature, a fascination
that he later combined with the urban street art inspired by skate and fashion.
Always eager to discover nature in a new composition, traveling has made him
develop new perspectives for plants in different types of media via collage,
photography, graphic design and sculpture.
The Plant Monsieur used Nike sneakers as a canvas to create handcrafted flower
and tree bark sculptures.
Through the sneakers his artistic aim is to express a critique of our consumer culture,
an important perspective of going back to the source; nature and its purity.

Bernard Pras is a French painter, photographer, and sculptor.
Pras is specializes in anamorphic art installations–assemblages of found objects that,
when viewed from a specific angle, form a recognizable image.
His most recent installations include portraits and recreations of classic works of art.
Some works are small enough to fit on a table, others fill large rooms.
Sandro Giordano is an Italian photographer who builds elaborate setups involving people
falling down and their stuff flying everywhere. That’s it. That’s his thing. And why not?
Humans are programmed to find faceplants funny.
“My photographs are short stories about a falling-down world,” he says.
“Each shot tells of worn-out characters who, as if a sudden black-out of mind and body took over,
let themselves crash with no attempt to save themselves because of fatigue.
They reach their limit beyond which their false self cannot go.”
Sandro is gaining a huge following for his colorful schadenfreude. Are you listening,
designers and models? Don’t forget to get your rest and take your vitamins.
And when someone says ‘break a leg, ‘please don’t actually break a leg or other limb like
Sandro’s poor souls (who, by the way, are live models asked to hold those poses for hours).

“The Golden Years”, a new series of the photographer Dean Bradshaw,
to whom we already had the excellent project “Real Life Superheroes”,
and who this time stages sports seniors in action into portraits full of energy.
A humorous response to the traditional images of young athletes
usually found in advertisements and magazines.
Kevin Bourgeois, New York based artist, combines photorealism, illustration, and Pop symbolism that results in a
fragmentation of surface and reality, creating very visual sociopolitical art.
His work is versed from past cultural movements and current themes of ideology, mass media, and identity.
Kevin Bourgeois takes the challenging medium of graphite and expands its boundaries in ways that invite inspection,
contemplation, and interrogation. Through an almost painterly application of pencil on paper, Bourgeois experiments with both form
and content, linking the complicated visual field with the equally complex subject matter.
The combination of socio-political messages with a formal technique and aesthetically appealing product to transgress the
association of socially explorative art with messiness and lack of pleasure.
Reinterpreting the hilariously cringy couple portraits that regularly circulate the internet, Brooklyn-based

You probably haven’t seen selfies quite like the ones Lyle Reimer posts on his Instagram page (@lylexox). Reimer,
a makeup artist who works at MAC in the company’s artistry and development program in Vancouver,
utilizes the social media platform as an art gallery for his selfies, which are often as weird as they are gorgeous.
Reimer, 36, has a style that skews a little bit Cindy Sherman and a little bit drag. A quick glance at his feed also
reveals his main influence: fashion. “I love fashion, I’m obsessed with it,” Reimer said.
A little over a year ago, after building himself a home studio to blow off creative steam after work, Reimer started his
Instagram account. Last Halloween, Instagram’s blog featured him as creative inspiration, and his account
grew from 500 to over 5,000 followers. Reimer regularly posts his latest alter egos, often accompanied by
hilarious text and copious, descriptive hashtags.
