Today is celebrated one of the most significant festivals in Indian culture, Diwali, the festival of lights,
sees millions attend firework displays,
prayers and celebratory events across the world.
The festival is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains for a variety of reasons, although
the main theme which runs throughout is the triumph of light over
darkness and good over evil.
To celebrate, houses are decorated with candles and colourful lights and huge firework displays
are held while families feast and share gifts.
Summer finally came to a close this weekend as Bestival marked the last instalment of festival fun for the year. Luckily for those who managed to make it, the sun was out to shine and put a spotlight on festival-goers with a good dose of style instinct.
See whose outfits caught our eye.
With the end of the summertime festival-season comes the advent of leafy, raining days, compelling us to retreat into the sanctity of toasty pubs and muggy clubs. But one bastion of the British summertime remains defiant – Bestival. Located in the heart of the Isle of Wight, Bestival is the culmination of a summer-long roster of artists from all over the world, and promises to deliver the final hurrah for festival-goers across the nation. With that in mind, a carefully chosen outfit is nothing short of essential, especially given the unpredictability of the British “summertime”climate.
